Ian Jones has a wealth of experience in local government law. For 9 years, Ian was
head of the legal department with various councils in Leicestershire. This involved
provision of legal advice, drafting and advocacy across the full range of those councils’
functions, as well as management of licensing services, democractic support and other
support services.
Since moving to private practice as a barrister, Ian Jones has advised and represented
councils and other public sector clients across a broad range of local authority
functions. Ian has also helped numerous clients in disputes and complaints against
local councils.
